PRP treatment stimulates and strengthens the hair follicles to encourage hair growth and thicken existing hair. Visible results of hair regrowth typically come about within three months of starting treatment.
It is a non-surgical treatment where only a small amount of blood is taken and not very often, so there’s no need to worry.

Performed by our qualified medical team, we collect around 11ml of blood- similar to that of a routine blood test. The sample is then placed in a centrifuge, which spins and separates the platelets from the rest of the blood components.
We then carefully extract the platelet-rich plasma to use and restore your hair growth.
Platelets are used by the body as a healing function, which is why injecting platelet-rich plasma will stimulate hair growth directly at the source.
PRP treatment for hair loss is a non-invasive therapy for hair growth. The therapy uses your own blood which undergoes centrifugation to isolate the platelet-rich plasma which is then re-injected into the areas affected by hair loss. Platelets are used by the body to form blood clots and other growth healing functions. Because of this, injecting platelet-rich plasma into the site of hair loss can stimulate growth at the site, reactivating hair growth.
PRP hair treatment has been found to encourage hair growth at sites of hair loss and stimulate natural growth. We recommend PRP therapy with other forms of hair loss treatment, such as FUE or DHI transplants, for best hair growth results. PRP treatment has shown improved hair growth speed in conjunction with these procedures and we provide it to each of our transplant patients.
Because of its role in healing and growth functions, we at Regrow Hair Centre now insist on all of our DHI and FUE transplant patients receiving PRP after care treatments. Platelets can accelerate the growth of new hairs while also improving hair thickness and texture. This not only leads to a better chance of successful transplant but healthier, more natural-looking hair.
The sensation of PRP treatment will vary depending on pain threshold – we’ve had patients who found it therapeutic and others who found it uncomfortable. If a patient struggles with the pain, we can administer a number cream to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. PRP also requires zero recovery time and you can resume your daily routine straight after the procedure.
PRP therapy tends to improve hair quality and growth for around four to six weeks, requiring follow-up appointments once a month for four months to see the best results. We also advise patients receive further treatment three to six months after to maintain the results and continue boosting hair growth.
Results can usually be seen around six to nine months after PRP hair treatment, with studies showing that patients who receive the treatment note higher hair count, thicker hair and hair root strength.
Choosing the best procedure for you will be dependent on your circumstances. Those who are good candidates for hair transplants who are happy to have the surgery may find better results from FUE or DHI. For those who aren’t good candidates for a transplant or aren’t interested in the surgery, PRP offers a natural, non-invasive opportunity. Those who aren’t good candidates can be those whose hair loss is considerable or those whose hair loss is only minimal as both candidates may not enjoy significant success from transplantation.
Since PRP hair treatment intends to reactivate hair growth, anybody experiencing hair loss may benefit from PRP treatment. The treatment can be effective at recovering some hair naturally for those with significant hair loss but the treatment generally works better for those whose hair loss is minimal.
